E.ON Adams is located at 5181 W Adams Blvd in the historic West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles. The project comprises 115 residential units with ground-floor commercial space aimed at reinvigorating the district’s retail corridor, and includes 13 units set aside for very low income tenants. The design challenge was to create density and vitality while respecting the surrounding neighborhood’s character and scale.

Category Company implemented an integrated development and construction strategy to deliver E.ON Adams with precision and purpose. The building features a discreet, layered façade that activates the street edge while providing scale and rhythm. Interior layouts focus on community, light, and usability, including a second-floor outdoor courtyard for residents. By combining ground-floor commerce with thoughtfully scaled residences and inclusive housing, the project transforms its context and demonstrates how development can be both ambitious and rooted in place.
