Located near Echo Park Lake in Los Angeles, The Echo Flats was conceived to provide thoughtful housing in a sensitive urban context. Taking cues from historic hillside projects such as those by Rudolph M. Schindler, the development responds to its surroundings through articulated massing, layered setbacks, and a human-scale façade. The site challenged the design team to balance density with light, access, and neighborhood character, while ensuring the project contributes positively to the fabric of the area.
